Christians find their true identity when they are involved in mission, in communicating to others a new way of life, a new interpretation of reality and of God and in committing themselves to the liberation of others. A missionary community is one that understands itself as being both different from and committed to its environment; it exists within its context in a way which is both winsome and challenging.

That's a great quote. I think there is a necessary balance between being involved in an enviornment as a misionary, and understanding that you have differences. All too often missionaries go into a place to bring their culture to the people rather then bringing Christ. Savage or otherwise, Christ alone can change the hearts of men, not culture.

Thanks for dropping by. I couldn't agree more to your response to the quote. I am not able to continue reading Bosch at this point, but I believe in the late part of the book I might find out that he actually would affirm your stand here.
